One of the styling tricks that has recently caught my attention is the dress and t-shirt trend.
The idea is to reinvent the trend (an absolute hit in colder seasons) and bring the overlay to the summer. With the concept of mitigating the sensual to something cool, the t-shirt underneath the dress unites fashion and functionality.
The piece works with more than a bias: besides bringing fashionista status to the outfit, it reduces the neckline and covers the neck!
It was the correct choice for Camila in two ensembles she chose during the Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro. Casual, cool and, at the same time, delicate and feminine.
Note: go for more tailored pieces, as seen in the collections of Derek Lam and Dries Van Noten! The two brands combined light & flowy dresses in deep necklines – in the slipdress style – with the classic crew neck t-shirts.
This version, which makes the traditional black & white game, brings sophistication and versatility to any look. The duo works very well in both causal as well as more formal occasions. Everything will depend on the accessories you choose!
For those adept in the ultra cool style, Emilio Pucci, Rag & Bone and BCBG Max Azria show that it is possible, yes, creating super cool overlays with pieces of different textures, prints and colors.
The more creative, the better!
In its spring 2016, Calvin Klein resurfaces with a more clean and monochrome touch, which plays with the fluidity.
Altuzarra followed an opposite path, taking inspirations from the boho and vintage universe. A strong, feminine and full of personality look!
If summer 2017 reinvents the 90’s mood, the graphic t-shirts (the famous rocker style t-shirts) are also a big hit! Courrèges, in its Summer 2016, anticipated what we’re seeing! – on the streets of New York in this fashion season. The t-shirts are the basis in combination with light and textured dresses, bringing fashion status the composition as a whole.
This trend brings the easy chic to street style and strengthens even more the versatility of a fresh look.
Inspire yourselves! :)
