From the Runway to StreetStyle: Off-the-Shoulders

Leaving your shoulders out to show ceased to be only for hot days. The pieces with gypsy neckline, which are classics of the Victorian Era and the 70’s, have been shown to be a big bet to wear throughout the year, even in the winter. Camila and I tried out the trend, each with our own style and in a season. She went for the striped dress with bell sleeves, which brings a romantic touch to the summer look. For a sunny winter morning in São Paulo, I chose a stripe off the shoulders knit blouse by Renata Campos with ultra long sleeves.

On the runway, more fashionista inspirations on how to match the pieces. For Altuzarra, the 1980s was the reference to the disco + sports pieces composed by the annular blouses with small stitching and gingham patterned pants. As for Prada 2018 Resort collection, the gray maxi coat gained shoulders to shows with two thin straps for a modern and daring look. Note that there are belts on both ensembles, to leave the looks even more feminine.

Two perfect  inspirations for the red carpet. Rodarte covered the neckline with bulky ruffles, which were repeated in diagonals on the skirt of the dress. Elegant to the maximum level, Carolina Herrera chose a black and white model entitled to stripes and pleats to give an even more delicate touch.

The knits and shirts were also featured in the collections with unexpected shapes. The off-the-shoulders neckline by Self-Portrait had charming ruffle details covering the sleeves which gave movement to the blouse. As for Off-White, the shirt with elongated models received double collars for a super cool look.

A million and one inspirations to give into the trend with your own style. I love it when brands surprise us and present us with different stylings and various ways to use the trend.

XoXo, Alice.
