We have been talking for some time about the mixture of prints being one of the great successes – and releases – of fashion. After all, that rule of ideal combination of neutral + standards is no longer applied, especially after so many brands proved that it is possible to take the trend to real life. Today, freedom and personality are the secrets to creating incredible looks and attitude.

One of the tricks preferred by fashionistas to mix prints is to follow with a color chart in harmony.  Camila and I invested in the repetition of shades to contrast the different designs. She chose the floral combo + plaid with white background with strokes in red and green. It’s an urban way of updating, including tailoring – the chemisier mix and printed blazer gave a fresh touch! In the romantic look I wore during the delightful days in the English countryside, I combined floral with different backgrounds, but with rosy and violet hues that are found in the pieces.

Geometric are also good bets. On the catwalk, Versace used three types of plaid on the coat, knit sweater and black and white pencil skirt. Black was one of the driving lines of this mix. As for Tory Burch, the lozenges maxi sweater left the look even more trendy, alongside the floral skirt with a slit.

The traditional tartan was also featured in the Winter 2018 collections – and contrasted with different types of flowers. In Anna Sui, earthy and orange were repeated in the pieces, bringing a retro country vibe with psychedelic touch in the shirt’s print. Meanwhile, the American Michael Kors went beyond. Not only were the roses in the dress and the plaid of the coat-it was necessary to add a pinch of animal print on the boots.

The 80’s aesthetic with punk perfume was the proposal of Erdem, who took its couture spirit to the streets in a composition based on the satin floral + plaid pants. In Oscar de La Renta, a modern idea to renovate the stage, only with the change in background – the dark green versus white.
