Carnival is right around the corner. From March 1 to 6, Rio de Janeiro will host one of the largest and most lively popular gatherings in the world. To enjoy this week in style, nothing better than choosing the most fashionable boutique hotel in the city, the Janeiro.
Osklen’s creator, Oskar Metsavah, made his debut in the luxury hotel industry and was responsible for the complete overhaul of the former Marina All Suites hotel, along with partner Carlos Werneck (who owns Pousado Maravilha in Fernando de Noronha). The hotel came out beautiful. It has the face of Rio: it is relaxed, contemporary, minimalist, elegant and laid back to the exact extent, and of course has the DNA of fashion.
Its 19 floors occupy one of Leblon’s hottest corners a few steps from the sand. As a frame, the Morro dos Irmãos on one side, the Arpoador on the other, and on the terrace you can see the Christ Redeemer with open arms. In fact, sitting on the rooftop of the hotel January to enjoy the sunset has already become one of the favorite programs of the locals. Unbeatable.
I had the privilege of enjoying some beautiful sunshine at Janeiro, in a suite facing the sea of Leblon and I fell in love. There are 53 beautifully decorated apartments with carioca soul. Light tones, good lighting, natural materials, ultra comfortable beds, bedding, table and baths developed by Trousseau with supervision of Oskar, amenities of the Brazilian Granado, and now the best of everything … when you take a shower, do you know what the view is like? You will have the most chic beach in Rio in front of you. It can’t be any better than this! In fact, to enjoy the beach, the hotel offers all structure with chairs and tents. But, if you prefer pool, it has an infinity edge, on the eighteenth floor a few steps from the bar. The drinks menu is really good as well.
Another highlight is that the hotel is environmentally friendly: it uses biodegradable cleaners, collects selective waste, uses returnable glass bottles, paper straws and reuses rainwater.
Now to the last tip, even if you are not staying at the hotel be sure to try the restaurant in Janeiro. Everything is good from breakfast to dinner.
Janeiro came right in time to bring light and renewal to Rio. You need to go for a visit. Take advantage of Carnaval week and come to Rio.
