It’s probably hard to even begin to think about spring trends, as we’re still in the midst of winter, but the new season will be here before we know it with a whole crop of new trends to try. But there’s one trend that is set to reign supreme this season: Shorts. The past few seasons have seen skirts, dresses, and trousers take center stage, but that’s about to change. This trend was all over the Spring 2020 runways, with designers like Saint Laurent, Michael Kors, Etro, Chloé and Celine showing shorts of all lengths, styles, and fabrics.

Now these shorts are far from your average end-of-summer denim cutoffs. The shorts that everyone will be wearing come spring are much more polished, with clean hems and tailored silhouettes. These were shown as suit sets with blazers, with chic button-downs tucked in, and paired with pretty tops to create elevated outfits worthy of being noticed. Spring 2020 shorts outfits will be much more thoughtful and styled than those of the past.
