I always receive emails and comments from readers asking where to buy makeup in the US, they want to know which stores, and where the best products can be found…from the more luxury to the more accessible ones. After all, when the topic is shopping for beauty products, we all want to know EVERY detail, right ladies?! Haha
Today’s post I will tell you my favorite stores and what you can find in each one of them. I really hope you like it and that this post really serves as a guide for your next beauty shopping trip.
1. SEPHORA
Today Sephora is known worldwide, for its charm, glamour and marvelous products. There you are able to find the best makeup/beauty brands such as Urban Decay, Benefit, Nars, and Clinique. In addition, you are also able to find more luxurious brands such as Dior, Chanel, Givenchy, YSL, etc… You are also able to find a vast selection of perfumes, skincare, nail polish and brushes.
The cool thing: At Sephora, you are always able to access the newest brand products launched, limited edition, and professionals that are able to help you with any questions or concerns. LOVE IT.
2. ULTA BEAUTY
ULTA is another incredible beauty store; it has the same format as Sephora although the concept is a bit different. At Ulta you can find several cool makeups, like my favorites: Benefit, Too Faced, Urban Decay, Lorac, Smashbox, and etc… However, Ulta does not sell luxury brand products, but it does have a vast variety of popular brands such as Maybelline, Revlon, L’Oreal, NYX (that is harder to find at different places), Ardell and others.
The cool thing: At Ulta, you find everything not only makeup but also has a big department focusing on hair and nails. So many nail polishes, hair products (shampoo and serums) and also hair tools such as hairdryers, curlers, straighteners, and more! Also remember that many Ulta locations there is a salon inside. Awesome, right?!
3. DRUGSTORES (Duane Reade, Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid)
Drugstores are really popular around here since they have pretty big beauty isles with more popular brands… the famous “DrugStore Makeup”, like Neutrogena, Ardell (I love buying fake eyelashes there), Sally Hansen, Maybelline, L’Oreal, Physicians Formula, Wet’n Wild, Covergirl, and more!!!
The cool thing: These drugstores are very practical and facilitate our shopping experience since there is one at every corner (haha). If we forget something, we can just run in there and buy it! Love it.
4. DEPARTMENT STORES (Nordstrom, Macy’s, Lord & Taylor)
I love department stores, because you can always find a great selection of diverse brands. Macy’s at 34th Street in NY, for example, is one of the best stores to purchase makeup. You can find EVERYTHING there, literally! From the most popular, luxury and those really hard to find brands such as Inglot. It is definitely worth checking it out, you will love it.
The cool thing: Department stores are easy to find, in most shopping malls there are at least 3 different ones. The ones that I most like are Macy’s and Nordstrom, since the brand selection is excellent and both have a MAC inside, which I love.
