I know that many of you here love wearing makeup, right?! I believe that perhaps the majority! But if one thing that I often dread doing is removing the makeup off my face, I get so lazy! Haha. However, sleeping with makeup on is horrible for the skin, it makes it age faster, causes acne, and among other evils, therefore it is necessary to make removing your makeup before going to sleep a bedtime ritual so that our pores can “breathe” throughout the night.
I receive so many comments from you saying that makeup removers are usually costly and doesn’t last long. Therefore, today I have brought some ideas of things you can use at home to save money and won’t irritate your skin. Check it out:
This is a miraculous product and of its various wonderful functions in the beauty world, one of them is that it can be used as an incredible makeup up remover and even removes waterproof products. You only need to apply a small amount to the skin with a cotton ball and watch the magic happen! Haha. It will remove everything really well and is super easy to find!
That’s right, olive oil, like the ones we have in our kitchen! It is super easy to use, apply a few drops of the olive oil to a cotton ball and gently smooth it to your skin mainly in the region of the eyes. It will facilitate sooooo much the makeup removal and avoids skin dryness. Rinse with lukewarm water and repeat the process if needed.
Another product that will remove all your makeup even the waterproof ones is the Johnson’s baby oil. This product is great on the skin and will leave it with a wonderful scent. The application method is the same as the ones I have mentioned above: apply with the help of a cotton ball and wash your face afterwards. The good thing about baby oil is that it is not abrasive to the skin and will not cause irritation!
Milk with Almond Oil
Another ingredient that is found in cosmetics. Dampen a cotton ball in milk, apply a few drops of almond oil and rub it gently to your face, then rinse with lukewarm water. It removes everything!
After removing the makeup, it is necessary to wash your face with a cleanser that will not dry out your skin. Therefore, in addition to the homemade makeup removers, I also discovered two products that can perfectly be included in your facial routine and which are also cheaper than special soaps/cleansers you buy. Take a look:
Intimate soap: You didn’t expect this one right?! Haha. The feminine intimate soap/cleanser has the most suitable pH for cleaning the face as opposed to common soaps. While the common alkaline, with a pH between 6 and 9, the intimate has on average a pH 4,4. It cleans the face without dehydrating the skin and are perfect to use after removing your makeup.
Baby Shampoo: Finally, another Johnson’s product that is commonly used to clean the face: the baby shampoo. It has a balanced pH, is free of alcohol and soap, and replaces facial soap for having a light and neutral formula that does not burn the eyes.
What did you think of the tips, ladies?! However, don’t forget that a deep and thorough wash with toner once a week is necessary. Also be sure to exfoliate the face to remove all dead skin cells. After all, skin care is essential, especially for those who loves wearing makeup!
