The pleated skirts are back on the runways for fashion week and lit was immediately adapted by the fashionistas.

It’s not the first time that pleats – the traditional technique that refers to the classics school uniforms – returns to street style. Each season, the trend appears with a new style, bringing features that ensure desired status of the piece.

For this season, the shape appears in skirts (long, midi, and elongated cuts) and gain a special touch: the metallic finish!

The shine was the highlight of this season and still stands strong for Summer 2017,  promising not to leave the fashionistas closet anytime soon, whether it be in lurex, lamé, or brocade!

On the runway, models transition between casual and super cool, matching with blouses and heavier fabrics as seen by Lela Rose and Misha Nonoo.

The midi length shows up in gold, silver, and bronze textures with flowy fabrics a little below the knees – a classic synonym of elegance.

The trick of styling hi-low was the starting point of many international brands! The technique combines basic items to the most luxurious, and appeared on the catwalks mixing the pleated skirt with neutral pieces, leaving the point of brightness to act as the protagonist of the ensemble.

For more elaborated compositions, the trend appears in more interesting ways, exploring more structured shapes and with various combinations with metallic pieces. Here, the shine completely engulfed the look!

Regardless of the combination, the piece retains its feminine nature in a contemporary reinterpretation, resulting in a real hit of the moment!

Certainly one of the trends that took my breath away! The piece embraces so many possibilities, without any rules or measurements, transitioning between the sophisticated and sporty vibes without losing it’s  fashionista feel.

It’s definitely a trend worth trying with boots, sneakers (as seen on Camila) or flatforms – which was my choice when creating a total white look during the Fhits Fashion Day in Fortaleza

Lets analyze the complete look: the light shade of the skirt brought harmony to the shine effect of the lurex cardigan and flat sandals, as well as the flowy blouse with foulards bows.

Not only does this outfit resembles a futuristic look, it also has a touch of romance. A great option to embrace the trend in a subtle and super stylish way!
