Just because you are on vacation doesn’t mean you have to stay with a bare face if you really enjoy wearing makeup, don’t you agree? There is nothing better than to wear fresh looks and take advantage of the heat to enjoy your getaway! However our biggest and realest challenge is to keep our makeup intact during this season, right?! Haha. I have a few awesome tricks that really help and I am here to share them with you. Check it out:
The first tip works for all seasons of the year. There is no point on starting a makeup without first taking care of the skin, dirt hinders the penetration of products and produces oil, therefore alway try the trio: soap + toner + moisturizer. After thoroughly washing your face, apply a sunscreen and then start your makeup.
2- USE A THERMAL WATER
Thermal water is your best friend in the summer! I am completely addicted and use it every day because it has the power to nourish and moisturize the skin. Use it always in the morning to facilitate the makeup process, reapply in the afternoon and before going to sleep. My favorite is the Eau de Beaute by Caudalie.
3- ALWAYS USE A PRIMER
The primer will help your makeup last for much longer, it is the key product for keeping you makeup intact during this season, not to mention that it reduces the oiliness, it camouflages open pores and softens expression lines. Always apply after your sunscreen and before the foundation. It’s ideal to use specific primers for each region: skin, eyes and lips, ok?!
4- WATERPROOF PRODUCTS
To prevent your makeup from budging, go for waterproof mascaras, liners and pencils.
5- HYDRATED LIPS
The lips also need care in the summer, so always moisturize them and protect them with the use of lipsticks, balms and moisturizing chapsticks.
6- FINALIZE WITH A SETTING SPRAY
To help keep the makeup in place, the final touch is performed by a product made exactly for this reason: the setting spray. Keep an eye out for choosing the right product according to your skin type. If it is oily, opt for an aerosol version.
7- SUMMER MAKEUP BAG
Despite these tips helping a lot to keep the makeup intact, it’s important to always take in your purse a few products to retouch your makeup throughout the day. I always carry a translucent powder to keep the skin matte and oil and also a mini version of a thermal water. Find out what are your needs and put together a purse with products you can take anywhere with you.
These are the tips that I usually do and it works, remembering that during the summer, heavy full coverage makeup can be set aside and invest in something more fresh that its not so over the top!
