#TravelTips: 5 Reasons to love JAMAICA

Hello everyone!

Last week I had promised you that I would write a little about Jamaica, the home of Bob Marley and Usain Bolt, remember? Well here I am to share what caught my eye the most about this Caribbean island of blue waters, rocked by reggae, fun, and relaxed atmosphere. I circled throughout the whole country from the capital Kingston (which I wasn’t really in love with except the tour through Bob Marley’s home which is now, on the exact day of his birthday) to the wonderful beaches of Ocho Rios, Montego Bay and Negril. Do you want to know what else attracted me in this blue paradise?

My favorite beach was Frenchman’s Cove, a few kilometers below Port Antonio. One of those places that is so incredible that you don’t want to leave. Two hills are home to a small horseshoe shaped cove where the turquoise waters of the sea meets with a small crystalline stream covered by native vegetation. It is a private beach and you have to pay to enter. This ensures greater peace of mind because it reduces the number of people. I assure you that it is worth every penny.

Close to there, just three kilometers, is another dreamy place, the Blue Lagoon. A large pool of fresh, cold and very transparent water mixes with the turquoise and warm water of the sea. You can already imagine the outcome, right?! It is the vision of paradise! Rafts can be rented for a stroll by the pond.

Another place that I fell completely in love with was the Dunn’s River Falls which is three miles from Ocho Rios. This waterfall has several waterfalls that descend by rocks of limestone and flow into the sea. The coolest thing is to climb the waterfall inside of the water walking by a stretch of 300 meters, with shoes made of rubber. A guide is essential to make this a safe tour because the path is very slippery and treacherous. It is one of those places that you have to go to when in Jamaica. In front, there is another attraction well frequented by tourists, the Dolphin Cove. I didn’t go because I prefer to see dolphins, sharks and manta rays loose in nature, but it is quite a busy place.

Ninety kilometers above Montego Bay you come to one of the most extensive and popular beach in Jamaica, Seven Mile Beach. There are many resorts along the 12 kilometers of white sand washed by that blue ocean that looks more like a pond for being so quiet. It is a perfect place to practice water sports and scuba diving.

To enjoy the best sunset in Jamaica, my tip is the rocky coastline of Negril, on the western end of the island, more precisely in Ricks’s Café. In addition to the color of the water that contrasts with the stones, the divers jump off the cliffs and provide a show of courage.

Did you like the tips from Jamaica? Beaches, waterfalls, rocky mountains, lagoons and a lot of reggae will pack your days in this little corner of the magical Caribbean. You can include it to your wish list that I assure you will not regret it. You will love it!

XoXo and until next Tuesday!

Bj

@Tânia Silva, Tânia, a Jamaica é linda demais.
