It is time to leave the neutral and earthy tone boots aside.  The order right now is to bring a colorful palette for the feet, transforming shoes into real protagonists. At least this is one of the signs that comes from summer 2018 runways, be Prêt-à-Porter or Haute Couture, and it seems to have already conquered fashionistas. During my recent trip to Paris, I saw a series of proposals so inspiring which combine textures and effects of models with pieces that completely abandon the rules.

Here are two examples of how Camila and I wore the color boots in the “wetsuit”  format (that is a total hit right now among the avant-garde brands), but in completely different ways. She opted for an all black look – composed of a leather jacket with metal appliqués and straight cut pants – and a pair of blue boots. It is a cool and stylish way to update the monochrome ensembles. As for my look, I went for the British military tailoring match in the Prince of Wales blazer and cargo pants, finalizing with a pair of light green boots by Brazilian designer Paula Torres.

As for the the collections presented in recent seasons, there are options for all tastes! Within the cool color card, Fendi and Saint Laurent invested in materials that create a luxurious appearance. The Italian chose blue, which has a perfect harmony with the coat of the same color, next to the red and yellow of the bag and skirt, respectively. In the collection of Anthony Vaccarello, the rocker mood had a certain boho interference, with off-the-shoulders dress covered with ruffles on the neckline and sleeves. On the feet, the tone chosen was the moss green on a velvety texture.

On the other hand, solar shades also had its place. In Jean Paul Gaultier, the yellow appeared in a mid shaft version, with fringe details on the sides, playing with the green and white dress.  As for the all red Zuhair Murad composition, feathers and shine contrast with the light varnished buckled boots.

Mixing of materials is another important point to highlight the trend. Calvin Klein gave a touch of glam to the color boots with appliqués at the center of the shaft. Vivetta merged two types of pink satin in different intensities and brought an 80’s aesthetic.

Inspiration is something that does not lack here! It is time to try and experiment unexpected interpretations to give new dialogs to fashion.
