From the Runway to StreetStyle: Jumpsuit

Ultimate symbol of utilitarianism, the overalls originate in military uniforms and were extremely popular among workers at the beginning of the last century. With its numerous pockets and square shape, the piece probably would not suspect that its future would be traced to occupy the position of protagonist of super elegant and modern looks on the runways. I believe it matches well with urban life. Being a hybrid, the jumpsuit is practical and ideal for stretching the silhouette. Accessories are precious allies to transform it – whether it’s a casual or fancy proposal. And, of course, it matches with various styles. Camila, for example, bet on a classic 1980s model, vibrant orange and tied at the neckline. It is a model that transits easily between the commitments of the day to day and a meeting with friends at night. As for my look, I chose a knit pink version for a special dinner in Miami.

In the Resort 2019 and Spring 2018 collections, they were everywhere! In the designer ward that invested in the indispensable neutrals, Hermès and Zimmermann explored the white in striking and sophisticated ways. The French presented the jumpsuit with geometric structure, with wide straps, waist cutouts and square neckline. As for the North American, an polka dot blouse overlay in a 70’s vibe.

Following modeling inspired by military uniforms, Stella McCartney played with the fun print and zippers on the legs to give a contemporary twist and bring the idea of classic repagination. After all, fashion has been presenting new interpretations for iconic pieces. The mix of the model with pumps is the favorite of the fashionistas. As for Emilio Pucci, a typical lightness to wear in resorts during holidays. The shades also make up a delicate and vintage mood at the same time.

Like the creation of Stella McCartney, which rescues the original modeling, other labels also showed their options closed and with their own personality. Worthy of stealing the scene from long party dresses, Valentino’s all red is what we can call the night star. With high collar and bow, it dispenses accessories! As for Tibi, the jumpsuit has a cool and minimalist structure.

Have you chosen your favorite? It’s amazing how fashion allows a piece to be so versatile and available in versions for all styles.

XoXo, Alice.
