Different from past decades, when a style was pointed as an absolute hit – and unique – of the season, fashion has been pointing out a diversity of options for all styles, utilities and tastes. And, anyone attentive to the trends that the catwalks have been bringing, no doubt, has already come across a multitude of versions of round handbags. It is structured and has a circle shape, gaining several types of finishes – from smooth leather to matte. During the last fashion weeks, I’ve seen so many inspiring productions that prove new ways of taking styles so specific to everyday life – and making them more urban and less of an “occasional bag”. For an al mare look, Camila Coelho chose Chanel’s circle bag, which has the perfect navy décor for the moment. I loved the composition that brings together the short dress with frills applied to the collar, shoulder, cuffs and waist. It’s chic and modern in the right measure! As for my look, I bet on the earthy maxi jacket combo + tailored pants to make a cool and elegant match with the same tone bag, but all printed.
In the collections, the brands entered the dispute for the most desired circle bag of the season. Michael Kors chose to play with small patterns scattered around the bag, with maxi application in metal. Meanwhile, Balmain chose the matte as the ideal detail to cover the all black style featured on the Fall 2019 runway.
On the wing of the versions with patterns, Marc Jacobs explored texture and all glam symbolism of the animal print – perfect option to give vibration to the neutral visuals. North American Mansur Gavriel explored the pink, classic of its palette, as chosen shade for the monochrome bag.
For Chanel’s Fall 2018, the round bag was featured prominently in the tweed look and was highlighted thanks to the texture of the leather, the chain on the handle and the embossed double C. A year earlier, Chloé presented the Pixie, a proposal that was very pleasing to the fashionistas and, in fact, was one of the most talked about it-bags of the time. And here we are, talking about the round bags, which continue to be renewed every season.
