From the Runway to StreetStyle: Colorful Stripes

In recent times, colored stripes have made strong appearances in fashion. Whether in street style or on the runway, the pattern consisting of various colors (preferably contrasting) comes in extremely elegant and powerful proposals, somewhat different from the childish vibe that the multicolored card was considered in the past. Moreover, it is likely that all that aesthetic symbolism, which brings together fun and youthful features with eighties hints, will be even more visible in the creations of various brands, in ideal looks for various occasions. Camila and I have presented different ways of betting on the trend on perfect paths both day and night. She invested in the wide-banded cachecour dress in a mix of colors with vintage flair. Already in my choice, the thin striped gave lightness and sophistication to the set consisting of jumpsuit + coat for an ensemble in Rio de Janeiro – making a special match with all the bossa of the “cidade maravilhosa” (wonderful city ).

On the catwalks, a series of interpretations that arouses a true desire to wear the colorful stripes nonstop. Richard Malone explored the stripes in various directions, forming cutouts and leaving the silhouette with elongated effect. At Valentino, designer Pierpaolo Piccioli brought a long model of shiny velvet, covered with tiny embroidery on the cuffs, and sleeves with a light puff on the cuffs. Elegance at the highest level!

For Fall 2019, Kate Spade and House of Holland opted for colorful stripes in tune with burgundy/violet accents in full knit looks. While the first brought a 70s-style composition and played with sparkles with the use of lurex yarns, the second chose an urban proposal, which carries super-colored elements + heavy boots.

At Missoni, the colorful maxi coat showed up with new textures and different yarns – some weft, some knitted – in a chic and cool rendezvous with leggings composed of bright lurex stripes. For Moschino, creator Jeremy Scott dared as usual. From the hat to the tailored pants, the pink, orange, black and white lines came together to form a vibrant look, with Latin flair and modernity in equal measure. Within the usual stylist concepts, “The more color the better!”.
