Fashion lovers dream of a classic piece full of history. With that in mind, today we’re going to tell you a little about the history of some iconic fashion handbags and why they are considered great objects of desire.

Are you familiar with the term it bag? It was often used to refer to wish bags in the 2000s, which were a fever among fashionistas.

Chanel 2.55 is by far one of the best known and most desired handbags in the world. This model was created because Coco Chanel could no longer stand holding her handbag in her hands. With this, the stylist designed a model with thin shoulder straps and, in 1955, updated this model and decided to name it after its launch date in February 1955. The bag is made of quilted leather and chains, inspired by Chanel’s hobby of horse riding. It currently has 7 sizes available.

The Kelly bag, by Hermès, was launched in 1935 for knights to wear, but in 1956 it was renamed to its current name, since Princess Grace Kelly fell in love with the French model. Therefore, the image of royalty is linked to the brand and product design, making the bag even more valuable. Behold: the model can cost up to U$ 150,000!

Dior, the classic French maison, on the other hand, launched an exclusive model in tribute to Lady Di. Lady Dior was launched in 1995, after Diana ordered all existing versions of the model at the time. Later, the current creative director of Dior, Maria Grazia Chiuri, created the Lady Dior Art project. With the initiative, the label invites artists from around the world to create their own version of the bag.
