Icon of femininity and elegance, the pearl is an object of desire in the history of fashion!
The classic, which until today is revisited in several versions, won signature of fashion accessory with Coco Chanel, who made it it’s trademark and forever changed the relationship of women with this gem.
Camila Coelho’s choice was a choker by jeweler Ana Rocha & Appolinario entirely worked by hand. The design of the piece is perfect for those who like the model with a modern twist. It’s ideal for bringing an elegant touch in urban productions.
In its appearance on the runways, pearls changed personality and embraced original forms ranging from oversized dimensions – as in Chanel’s summer collection – to the more minimalists as Valentino and the classic more organic of Christina Dior.
The accessory shows its versatility and is driven not only in ensembles, but also along more simple pieces, as proposed by the American designer Rag & Bone, known for it’s cool & urban style.
Classic and statement, the pearl necklace won space among the fashionistas of Hollywood with Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor and, especially Audrey Hepburn (who doesn’t remember the wonderful costumes of Audrey Hepburn, with pieces signed by Givenchy, for the film “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” of 1961?).
It still follows today as a key item on red carpets to create romantic, feminine (as brought by actress Cate Blanchett), young and modern productions, in which the model can bring a cool touch to the look, as invested by the singer Rihanna.
Because they are timeless jewels – and exactly why they are worth the investment -, the accessory is able to go with with any occasion.
I embraced the classic in three ways:
The first was in my ensemble to the last Fhits Headquarter event, during Sao Paulo fashion week. The minimalists pearled choker helped keep the look light and delicate.
This same piece was part of my look for the last Brazil Foundation, which took place in New York last year. A refurbished classic able to bring minimalist elegance to the composition!
In my last look, the idea was to rescue the 70’s style – as seen by Jackie Kennedy – in larger spheres and opaque. The style is the same, but the effect is different!
The Piece, which alone is capable of bringing sophistication and now gains a super trendy look!
For this season, classic is the expression of order! Invest! 🙂
