In fashion, it is not by chance that some pieces are considered classic in the wardrobe. Even with this flow of trends that arises every season, bringing super desirable hits, there is always a special place for items without an expiration date. In the case of the white blazer, it is likely that you have already come across a multitude of versions, each within a proposal. During the summer season of 2020, the tailored jacket came with full force. After attending some shows, I remembered a an outfit I wore for a special afternoon in São Paulo two months ago. For my black and white look, I invested in the combination of black pieces underneath, one of them being One Up pants with a white side strip, with the blazer on my shoulders. The styling trick of “not wearing” the garment is one of the favorites and, believe me, it’s an infallible way to give that touch of elegance to the look. As for Camila’s look, the chosen proposal was the tuxedo format, which has a curved and whole collar lapel, with a deep V neckline. Notice how the all white aesthetics also presents a certain lightness in tailoring.
For the Spring 2020 collections, some brands have opted for tailoring sets with a certain refresh. At Burberry, creative director Riccardo Tisci brought the slightly waist-shaped blazer with a lashing belt and looser pants with pleats that give the piece movement. Underneath the jacket, the printed shirt points to a kind of connection with street wear. Meanwhile, Max Mara presented the suit in its traditional composition (jacket, vest and pants) with renewed proportions – longer blazer and short pants and vests.
At Tom Ford, the New York 80’s mood was the starting point for the collection that featured full tailoring looks. One of them was all white composed of blazer + pants with typically masculine structures. At Etro, the suit comes with a certain soft and laid back footprint, with earthy leather flats.
With striking shoulders, Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini presented a blazer with wide modeling and straight lines. For Boss, a version with double buttoning, marked waist and with the neckline as the protagonist of the look. High voltage of femininity.
