The classic and beloved Miss Dior perfume was made in honor of Christian’s sister and all the women who inspired him. The first bottle of the fragrance was very different from what we know today and was shaped like an amphora, which are ancient vases known for their curves and that reminded them of a beautiful flower, almost a jewel.

The first collection presented by Dior, was marked by elegant and at the same time sensual silhouettes, which according to the editor in chief of Harper’s Bazaar at the time, Carmel Snow, said they had an air of “New Look”. The term came to be used to describe the style of the pieces, which clearly showed the femininity of women’s bodies, where the tailleur bar became an iconic piece of the maison.

Dior has always been the darling house of celebrities like Elizabeth Taylor, who wore the New Look to receive the Oscar for best actress in 1961. Princess Grace Kelly wore a Dior dress for her 1956 engagement. Lady Di was such a fan of Chouchou model with cannage texture, which ordered all models available at the time. Later, Diana won an honor and the brand’s most famous bag was renamed Lady Dior.
