Let’s agree that a paradise island, in a remote part of the planet, surrounded by a lot of blue, has tremendous value!! If it’s in good company… even better! So, I’ll let you in on a few little secrets. Three islands that will make you sigh: Tetiaroa (French Polynesia, where The Brando hotel is located), Cayo Espanto, in Belize and the sensational Amanpulo, in the Philippines. Ready for strong emotions?
1. Tetiaroa – The Brando – French Polynesia
This island is my darling, after all I got married there and it was unforgettable. Not to mention that it was Marlon Brando’s private hideaway and today it houses one of the most sustainable and exclusive hotels I’ve had the privilege of visiting. It was voted the best hotel in the world by Condé Nast Traveller. You get it, right? Sensational!!!! Its villas are huge, right on the sand, have total privacy and all have swimming pools. The details are impeccable. A total luxury.
2. Cayo Espanto – Belize
This small island-hotel exudes authenticity and hospitality in low-key Belize that promises to enter the scene in full force. Cayo Espanto has also been honored by Condé Nast Traveller for the excellence of its service and accommodations. There are only seven accommodations on the island, six of which are on the sand with a private pool, and one is an overwater bungalow with a private deck that has a glassed-in portion so you can watch the marine life. The cuisine is a highlight, as well as the possibility to enjoy a nice massage on the sand, under the shade of the trees. Belize is still going to be the talk of the town. It is my bet as the destination of revelation.
3. Amanpulo, Philippines
The blue of the Philippines itself is divine, added to the exclusivity of a hotel belonging to the Aman group… it’s perfection! The island is located in the Cuyo archipelago, in Palawan, and the hotel has a romantic, chic, and quiet vibe. It’s perfect for a trip for two. Privacy is complete in their villas and casitas. There is no lack in pampering, such as a canoe ride with drinks, dinner on the beach with an exclusive chef, snorkeling and a super spa, by the way its a tradition in the Philippines. For those who practice yoga and meditation, there is a room with an incredible vibe to balance the energy.
Now what? Which one? Hard to choose. I hope I have inspired you to have a very bright week.
XoXo and see you next week.
