The handbag is that accessory that can make all the difference in a look and can be used in several occasions. In addition to being practical and beautiful, the bag is also versatile, as it can be found in different colors, models and sizes, allowing you to take the essentials (and even a little more, lol) wherever you go.

In order for your bags to last a long time without losing their original quality and shape, here are some tips for preserving them.

Did you know that even the way you store your bag can impact its durability and even its appearance? Therefore, avoid stacking your bags and prefer to keep them next to each other – but be careful with the friction between them, so you avoid possible scratches and stains.

If your bag comes with that classic anti-dust bag, be sure to use the packaging – or place it inside a box with a lid and prefer to keep each one in an airy place and away from the sun. To keep the shape of your bag intact, you can fill the inside of your bag with crumpled paper.

To keep your bag’s color up to date and avoid stains, be careful what you leave around or even inside it. And of course, in order not to damage the external and internal material of your precious bag, don’t leave sharp or pointed accessories near it, okay?

Keeping your bags clean is very important to prolong the impeccable appearance and life of the pieces. The right product may vary depending on the main material of your bag, but in general, you are allowed to use baby wipes that are free of alcohol, chlorine and fragrance. You can still just use a soft, slightly wet towel. On the inside of the piece, just dust or vacuum.

Metal details such as gold or palladium can be cleaned and polished with a soft brush and dry flannel respectively.

Leather pieces may dry out over time, so it is essential to keep them hydrated. For this, the tip is super simple: just a little almond oil (you can find it in pharmacies and grocery stores) with a gauze and voilà: properly moisturized bag.

PS: Each bag requires specific care, so pay attention to the label or booklet that comes with your accessory.

Now we want to know: what’s your bag of the moment? And which one is your favorite from your collection?
