#DICAS DE VIAGEM- GLAMPING NO DESERTO DO SAARA camila coelho10

If you like to live unusual experiences in travel, you can’t miss the chance of having a night beneath the mysteries of the Sahara Desert.  So, come with me. It was past 4 o’clock in the afternoon when finally, after many hours on the road between Skoura and Merzouga – more than seven – we got so excited to arrive at the dreamy luxury camping in the Sahara Desert. This is one of the most anticipated moments to whoever goes to Morocco. After all, the Sahara is one of the largest deserts in the world and to spend a night at the infinity of sand, tamed only by the nomads of the region, is a super adventure.

Our rental car was parked at a point of support on the side of the road and we embarked on four wheelers, suitable for facing the dunes. It only took us 15 minutes and we arrived at the Merzouga Luxury Desert Camp, a nomadic camp comfortably situated between the dunes where colorful rugs run up to the luxury tents. I still had time to do a camel ride and enjoy the magic of a sunset in various shades that migrated from golden to glowing orange in an unforgettable spectacle.

The term glamping refers exactly to the camping + glamour context. Everything is amazing and unique. A luxury camp in the Sahara.
Six tents arranged in a circular shape. The largest was used to make meals as the temperature fell sharply from 30 degrees to 6, and the other for guests. When the fire that was in the center of camp abated, the cold took account and only inside the tents was warm and comfortable. That starry sky stayed outside and the singing of the Berbers silenced. Inside, king-size beds, down comforters and even pockets of warm water was waiting for us.  The tents even have private bathrooms with showers. But where is the courage to bathe in that sudden cold that took over the night?

The next day, five o’clock in the morning and the spectacle of the sunrise colored again the sands of the desert. A walk through the dunes and a call for a super Moroccan breakfast before departure.

An unusual experience which left beautiful memories and secured a handful of sand from the Sahara Desert inside our shoes and clothing. Super special.

Important tip: the Sahara Desert is known to be the hottest desert in the world. In summer the temperature can reach 50 degrees. Imagine that! Therefore, schedule your trip for the cooler months, between November and March. And know that there will be a sudden change of temperature. Be prepared to face it.
