Easter is right around the corner. It is a date that gives us a chance to reflect. Perfect season to celebrate love, reunite the family, thank, forgive, and start over. Easter eggs symbolize exactly this, the birth of a new time. They began to be offered in the East, by the Christians, with that intention and the gesture spread all over the world.

Gramado is an incredible place to celebrate this date. After all, the city of Rio Grande do Sul besides being super cute, is known as the “Brazilian capital of artisanal chocolate”. The streets are filled with colorful bunnies and eggs. The scent of chocolate exhales through every corner. Magical.

To live the best of Gramado start by choosing a charming hotel. My tip is the St. Hubertus Inn, which is a member of the Association of Charming Hotels. It sits in an idyllic spot, across from one of the city’s main postcards, the Black Lake, which can be seen from the breakfast room, the indoor pool and the fireplace room. Peace, warmth, coziness and nature will make you feel at ease. The service at the hotel is impeccable. On arrival, welcome champagne; afternoon, apple tea with cake on the outdoor deck facing the lake; and before sleeping good night fruit. The rooms are beautifully decorated, super clean. You know one of those places where you are so happy to be there that you do not even want to leave? This is it.

But, also take some time to walk down the main street, Borges de Medeiros. Go in the shops without haste, especially those of chocolate that are a temptation during Easter, take a break on Coberta Street and go in St. Peter’s Church for a blessing. Visit the Mini World, Steam World, Dreamland Wax Museum, Gramadozoo, Hollywood Dream Cars, Lavender Park, Caracol Park (where you have the best apple strudel in the world at Castelinho) and go to Canela. There is plenty to see. When the hunger strikes do not forget the traditional poussin, I love the Nonno Mio. At night, I recommend the fondue of Le Petit Clos.
