Truth or not that the word “Tahiti” sounds like music to our ears and immediately brings the image of a dreamy blue immensity full of colorful little fish? How many couples sigh at the thought of living romantic days in this paradise? For Tahiti is worth the dream and worth every breath! There’s magic in the air.

Getting to Tahiti is not easy but let’s agree that this huge distance is part of the show. Such exclusivity in the full South Pacific has its flavor there. After many hours you will disembark in Papeete, the capital and most populous city of the main island that is called Tahiti. However, I assure you that this is not the “Tahiti” of your daydreams. Its target goes by some of these names: Moorea, Bora Bora, Rangiroa, Tikehau, Taha’a or Tetiaroa, and others less known as Huahine, Raiatea, Fakarava, Manii and Marquesas.

Let’s start with Moorea. It is the island closest to the capital and easier access. You can go by ferry in half an hour and there is also an airport. Moorea has high volcanic mountains covered by pretty green vegetation. It is beautiful, surrounded by a deep blue sea protected by a ring of coral that soothes the ocean and turns the surroundings into a true turquoise lagoon. It is an incredible place to swim among stingrays, sharks and colorful fish. At some times of the year, whales come to welcome visitors.

Let’s talk about the famous Bora Bora now?!  Well, I’ll tell you that it lives up to fame. Amazing. When the plane approaches, your jaw drops. In the center, a single volcanic massif is surrounded by a barrier of corals that exhibits the most fluorescent sea on the face of the earth. It has already received the title of “most beautiful island in the world”. In addition, the island has cinematographic hotels. Perfect for an unforgettable honeymoon.

Practically across from Bora Bora and alongside Raiatea is the charming island of Taha’a with the most beautiful coral reefs in Tahiti, full of innocent fishes and scary moray eels. Taha’a looks like an aquarium. There are also many stingrays and dozens of sharks (which have so much food available that they will not even look at you). Interestingly, the island has plantations of vanilla and cultivation of black pearls. It’s a very special island.

Rangiroa means “immense sky”. The name makes sense. It is one of the largest atolls in the world, formed by a ring of 241 islets. Its interior has a blue lagoon not to be missed by those who love the mysteries of the sea. I have never seen so many fish in my life when snorkeling. A party. And to accompany, dolphins. An island to be visited.

Tetiaroa was the island I chose to celebrate 30 years of marriage. More exclusive impossible, after all, it was the secret haunt of Marlon Brando for many years and today it houses the luxurious eco-resort – The Brando. It is an idyllic place, surrounded by an unbelievable sea in many shades of blue.
