Last week, a friend called me and said: “I am starting to look for a nice place to spend Christmas and New Year’s Eve. I want a beach and high spirits, in a very secluded place that has a hotel. What you suggests to me?” At that very moment I thought of the “Praia do Espelho” (Mirrored Wonders beach), at the Pousada Bendito Seja. Have you heard of it?
A Praia do Espelho is the right place to be. It is a few kilometers after the famous Trancoso. The quietness is it’s trademark. It is a Brazilian destination that is pretty much untouched and visited by many celebrities. With colorful cliffs to circumvent a crystalline sea full of natural pools is considered one of the ten most beautiful beaches of Brazil. The scenery is beautiful. Nature really took it’s time to create such a magical place. The site is protected and attracts marine turtles in the spawning season. It’s so beautiful!
Nothing like staying in a super exclusive hotel on a paradise like this one. The Pousada Bendito Seja is amazing. It is a boutique hotel that is a part of the Roteiros de Charme group. It only has 11 rooms (which is perfect, don’t you think?), it is on the sand (even better). The decor is in a rustic-chic style, which is totally consistent with the place. So luxurious!
The rooms are romantic and are decorated in such style. Each one of them is inspired in one color and have canopy beds. The bed linens and towels are scented. The bathroom is integrated into the room. Pure charm.
The breakfast is unforgettable. Everything is done right there and served still warm in a decorated room with antique furniture. The face of Bahia. The employees are extremely nice and welcoming, they do everything to please you. They offer juices, tapioca, toast… so many delicious treats for their guests.
To get to the Praia do Espelho, you need to get off at the airport of Porto Seguro and then request a transfer, ask a taxi or rent a car. I prefer to renting a car at the airport that way I am able to go places on my own. The trip takes less than two hours from the airport to the resort.
By car you can go to Trancoso for dinner in the square which is a 20-minute drive. You can visit the Imbiriba village of Pataxó, you can also go to Caraíva and even the tip of Corumbau. Options not limited if you are looking for shade and fresh water.
If you haven’t visited this paradise yet, I totally recommend it. It’s is an amazing place.
