One of the questions I get the most from you is this: How do I get my makeup to last all day? Since I go to many events and work trips, where my day is usually full of appointments, I do not have much time to get my makeup done during the day and so I confess that with time I began adapting some tricks until I got to a “ritual “which keeps my makeup intact for hours. Of course I had to share these tips with all of you, right?! Check it out:
1- Keep your skincare up to date
I know this tip may sound cliché, but there is no secret formula in the world that will allow your makeup to last the whole day if your skin needs care. So hydrate, protect, clean and take off your makeup every day. This step will make a total difference, in fact, the more beautiful your skin is, the less products you will need to use when doing your makeup, which will help make it look gorgeous and with a lasting result.
2- Prepare your skin
Before starting to apply the foundation always remember to prepare your skin to receive the makeup. My stage of skin preparation consists of: cleaning / toning, applying thermal water, moisturizing, sunscreen, applying a primer and then applying the foundation or BB Cream.
3- Do not Exaggerate in Quantity
Perfect coverage is not a synonym of great quantity of product! Just apply what you need from your foundation and concealer to cover the imperfections and neutralize the skin. I always like to apply with a damp sponge, for me it is what makes total difference and helps to fixate the foundation more in the skin.
4- Use creamy products
Always when I want to create a lasting makeup, I do the entire preparation of skin with creamy products before I use powder. This includes: contour, blush and creamy or liquid highlighters. Although it takes more time, this step is indispensable, after all, the first thing that disappears is the bronzer and the blush. Therefore, doing this the products will be more intense and will last for more hours on the skin.
5- Seal it with Powder
I know a lot of people do not like the idea of using compact powder, but this stage is indispensable when creating a lasting makeup. My favorites are translucent because it does not change the shade of the foundation and leaves with a lighter appearance on the skin. I apply only where I know my skin is more oily, I carry a compact in case I need to do a quick retouch throughout the day and remove the excess shine.
After finishing the makeup, I spray a lot of thermal water or makeup fix, this helps to make it last longer and also leaves the skin looking beautiful and natural.
7- Quick Retouches
Although these tips are valuable and really work, I always carry in my purse my powder and a duo of blush and bronzer to retouch throughout the day if necessary.
What did you think of the tips, my loves?!
