Whenever I travel, I like to try the flavors of local cuisine to immerse myself in the customs of that people, because what you eat in a certain place and the way you prepare your food tells a lot about the local culture, doesn’t it? I include everything from street markets to starred restaurants in my travels, I like to go from A to Z.
Last month I was in Thailand again, a delicate country of fresh, colorful, tasty cuisine and prepared with much love. They use lots of rice, vegetables, pasta and fruits in an incredible combination. It’s exotic. I’m a fan and I always like to try new places and new experiences every time I go to Bangkok. This time I crossed the Chao Phraya River to dine at the Rim Naam Room, the traditional restaurant of the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok hotel, which is amazing! It offers a must-try combination of the best of Thai cuisine with a classic Thai dance show and one of the city’s finest views of the banks of the river. To get there: boat. It already starts in a special way.
The sun was setting when I arrived. Beautiful colors in the sky and the movement of the boats going back and forth, which is even greater after the inauguration of the elegant Icon Siam mall practically next to the restaurant.
Dinner starts at 7:30 pm with tasting menu of the best of Thai cuisine served in several stages and lasts just over two hours. I loved the grapefruit salad with chicken and prawns, the shrimp soup, the crab dumplings, the shrimp with pepper sauce and the desserts are delicious. After that, the dance show begins in five acts. A perfect combination that I recommend. Art in every way!
Other restaurants that I love in Bangkok are Bo.Lan and Nahm.
Bangkok is a lovely city. There is always a lot going on and new places to see.
XoXo and see you all next Tuesday.
