In the 90s, she paraded through the sands of northern Alagoas, between the sketches of a page and another of her books. That was when the blue of the beaches of Maragogi stole the show, serving as a source of inspiration and hiding place for Bruna Lombardi. The beach was named after the writer “Bruna’s Beach” and little by little revealed itself with its turquoise blue Maldivian hues. Today the state of Alagoas is reputed for having one of the most beautiful coasts in Brazil, the Coral Coast. And it was there, on Antunes beach, right next to Bruna’s beach that Anttunina Pousada Spa opened its doors in 2019.
Full of sophistication, the pousada Anttunina is perfect for those who want to live a few days of sun in the best “foot in the sand” style in a little piece of paradise. It has only 19 accommodations (3 villas and 16 bungalows) of a luxurious standard, on a huge site by the sea with only 20% of built area. Jaw-dropping from the first to the last minute. It is one of the most exclusive inns in Brazil, in a secluded place, perfect for the times we live in, and run with great responsibility by a traditional family from Alagoas that values sustainability and the work of the local community.
My experience was fantastic. I stayed at Villa Nina, a 200 square meter house nestled in a lush garden, surrounded by a beautiful water mirror. The house is cozy, in harmony with nature, and has complete privacy. The indoor and outdoor environments are connected by glass doors and heated swimming pools. To relax there are hammocks, hot tubs, loungers, and a lot of peace. What a spectacular place. It has a huge master suite, cinema room, living room, two bathrooms, and a gourmet area. You know the kind of place where you don’t want to leave? I felt at home. The hospitality of the staff is wonderful and I was surprised with unforgettable experiences such as breakfast on a floating tray by the pool in the bungalow, brunch by the sea, afternoon tea in the garden, and candlelight dinner on the beach. Not to mention that the cuisine at Anttunina is excellent.
Don’t miss a walk on the beach at low tide when you can walk almost a kilometer out to sea and a ride on one of the boats from Anttunina to the Sea to the natural pools to snorkel. The sea is calm, blue and the water is warm. Also go to the tranquil Japaratinga, visit the trendy Patacho beach, visit the Peixe-Boi Association in Tatuamunha and the famous São Miguel dos Milagres. These places are part of the Ecological Route of Alagoas.
To get there you can disembark either in Maceió or Recife, because Anttunina is located exactly between the capitals of Alagoas and Pernambuco. Rent a car or get an uber/taxi and in just over an hour you will be in paradise.
Take note of this tip because I am revealing one of the most special and exclusive places in Brazil.
XoXo and see you next week.
